In autumn 2021, Salford Care Organisation, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust were looking for a way of providing same day urgent advice and guidance for primary care whilst also reducing unnecessary attendances and referrals to the hospital. They commissioned Consultant Connect.

ENT triage pilot: 39% of long waiters benefit from management plan

A Trust in the North of England asked us to support them with a pilot Referral Triage project, looking at patients who have been on the ENT waiting list for 50-60 weeks. The initial pilot covered 200 patients on the ENT waiting list, and 39% of patients were returned to clinicians in Primary Care with written Advice & Guidance.

Early Impact: Gynaecology triage

In July 2022, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) decided to use Consultant Connect’s Referral Triage service to run a project focusing on their gynaecology waiting list. Over a quarter of the waiting list has been triaged to date, and early results show a significant impact in directing patients to the most appropriate pathway, improving their care.

5-year contract awarded after successful A&G pilot

Consultant Connect was launched in partnership with NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB) as a one-year pilot project to assist with the pressures of Covid-19. Because of the pilot’s success, we are incredibly excited to announce that the project has been awarded a 5-year contract.
