How it works

Clinician needs Photo Advice & Guidance

A clinician has a patient that might need referring to hospital. The clinician confirms in the app that the patient has consented to being photographed and takes one or more photos using PhotoSAF within the Consultant Connect App. The clinician adds the patient’s NHS number and any relevant notes.

All images are saved to an IG secure and GDPR compliant cloud and not on the clinician’s phone.

1

Clinician wants to share photos immediately for specialist advice

The clinician taps the ‘share these photos’ option on the screen and selects the hospital specialty. The photos and notes are automatically and immediately sent to the local specialty clinician team.

Responding specialist clinicians can answer the request securely anywhere – on their mobile, tablet or desktop – in under a minute.

2

Clinician receives advice

The clinician who requested the advice is notified either through the Consultant Connect App or via email that they have a response.

Once the advice is received, either clinician can close the case and record the outcome (for example; “referral made” or “referral avoided”).
