About the panel discussion:
Keeping patients out of hospital by ensuring that only those who need to be seen face-to-face attend is key to reducing winter pressures and increasing productivity. ‘Right place first time’ is not new, but the impact only kicks in once implemented reliably and at scale. Giving clinicians access to a rapid telephone advice service is one major contributor to helping ease pressures.
NHS leaders across the nation shared their learnings and experiences of setting up proven UEC pathways at our webinar, chaired by Chris Morrow-Frost, National Clinical advisor to hospitals and co-chair of NHS England Hospitals’ UEC Clinical Advisory group.
Speakers included:
- Chris Morris, Clinical Lead for Surgical Same Day Emergency Care at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board
- Dr Jamie Morrison, Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Clinical Lead for the Flow Navigation Centre, NHS Tayside
- Clive Moss, Senior Commissioning Manager (Urgent and Emergency Care), NHS South East London ICB
- Rachel Williams, Associate Chief Operating Officer – Emergency Division, South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust
