As 2018 draws to a close, here are some of our highlights:
Over a quarter of GPs can now access immediate Advice & Guidance:
During the course of 2018, Consultant Connect’s immediate advice & guidance service has expanded to cover 19 million patients in over 60 healthcare areas. We published all the data from day 1 on the third anniversary of our service launching:
Consultant Connect – all the data from day one.
We launched our teledermatology app and got great results!
The Consultant Connect app allows GPs to take IG-secure photos using their mobile and share them with dermatologists for advice. Our first set of data from a project in Leeds was fantastic:
Reducing demand for 2WW dermatology appointments by up to 24%.
We launched a webinar program with stellar speakers from the NHS!
Our webinars on easing year-round winter pressures, CAMHS and how to be a Superimprover were listened to by over a thousand of you! And it’s not surprising considering the speakers we had lined up, such as Jim Mackey from Northumbria Healthcare Trust, Linda Charles-Ozuzu from NHSE and Tajek Hassan from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.

We were in the Press!
HSJ Article – Tackling the Four-Hour A&E Target
Guardian article – Doctors on speed dial
We won an award!
At the beginning of the year we were shortlisted for 2 HSJ Awards for our urgent care project with Luton CCG. Close but no cigar. So joy was unconfined when…

Coming in 2019:
One of the biggest challenges for hospitals delivering an advice & guidance service in 2018 was staffing it. To help with this, Consultant Connect has recently created a network of specialists who can answer advice requests from clinicians in your area. We’ll be publishing our data throughout 2019:
Using out-of-area consultants to support Advice & Guidance
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss any of the above. Thanks, as ever, to all of our customers and users for their fantastic support – we look forward to working with you in 2019!
Wishing all our readers, their colleagues and their families a wonderful festive period.
